Whether you hire a transport service or get behind the wheel yourself, there are more than a few reasons to visit the city this year. Don’t miss out on these 5 cultural events in Atlanta this 2019.
Sweet Auburn Springfest
The Sweet Auburn Springfest is the longest running event in the Sweet Auburn District of the city. For 34 years people have been attending the event for good food, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun. This is the perfect opportunity to show your appreciation for the spring time as it happens every May on Mother’s Day weekend.
420 Festival
You might assume that 420 festival is meant to celebrate cannabis, but it is actually a festival oriented around craft beer. The entire festival is hosted by Sweetwater, a famous Atlanta-based brewing company, so you can be sure that beer will continue to flow the entire time. It gets its name 420 since it is held on Earth Day weekend each year (generally around April 20th) in Centennial Park.
Atlanta Food and Wine Festival
You can get an idea of what this festival is all about from the name. At the Atlanta Food and Wine Fest, you can show your true appreciation for local ATL restaurants and out-of-state culinary artists. All of the best chefs arrive in the city at the end of May to whip up the most delicious delicacies known to man. This is a more upscale food fest than you’re probably used to, so don’t be shy about dressing your best.
Atlanta Jazz Festival
The ATL Jazz Fest is one of the largest jazz music events in the country, but the best part is it’s completely free to attend. It takes place every year on Memorial Day weekend in Piedmont Park and has hosted famous artists like Miles Davis and Nina Simone.
Atlanta Film Festival
The Atlanta Film Fest brings international film makers together from all corners of the world. It started off in 1976 and continues to go strong in 2019. The festival hosts a diverse variety of films ranging in genres from comedy to sci-fi. If you consider yourself a film junkie, this is a can’t-miss Atlanta event happening every April.
