The TPP agreement, which stands for the Trans-Pacific Partnership has struggled to gain traction after US President Donald Trump has been unwilling to sign the controversial partnership agreement and announced that the USA would formally decline any involvement in a TPP partnership.

The TPP agreement was initially created in 2015 in order to promote trade and communication between a variety of nations. Initially 12 countries were in talks to sign a TPP agreement, some examples of which included the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam and Peru.

When Trudeau failed to turn up to a international TPP summit, the international media accused Trudeau of not being sincere when it came to signing a TPP agreement and that Trudeau had no intention of following through and someday signing the TPP agreement.

However Trudeau defended himself against such remarks by suggesting that Canada was not ready to sign the TPP agreement as there were many changes that needed to be made to the document, before Canada would close the deal and sign the TPP agreement.
