1. Popular Demorcrat Bernie Sanders announces that he plans to run for the 2020 presidential election
Bernie Sanders, who has served as a three term senator was announced as the 10th Democratic candidate to run for the 2020 presidential election.
2. Cindy Mc Cain the wife of Arizona senator John Mc Cain believes that one of her children will follow in their father’s footsteps
Cindy Mc Cain who is the widow of the late John Mc Cain, has been interviewed stating that not one but two of her children with her deceased husband have political ambitions and that Americans will likely see another Mc Cain serve was a US politician in the coming years.
3. Iran’s president compares Trump to Nazis
After the current Iranian president Hassan Rouhani made a controversial statement which compared US president Donald Trump to Nazis during a US state of assembly, Pompeo the US secretary of state retaliated by calling Rouhanis’ comments outrageous and unacceptable.
Pompeo then went on to announce that Trump would not meet with Iran and that the Iranian leader would have to learn to change his behaviour before he would be granted a meeting with Trump.
Earlier in the day, Trump had spoken out about Iran’s politics by stating that Iran’s political leaders pillage Iran’s resources in order to increase their personal wealth, with no thought to the well being of their people or the future of their country.
Relations between Iran and the USA have soured since 2015, when Trump pulled out of a trade agreement with Iran.
4. British prime minister Theresa May states that she trusts Trump in a new tell all interview
While president Trump’s international reputation may need a lot of work, Trump definitely has an ally in the current British prime minister Theresa May who stated that she trusts Donald Trump as a leader.
May also went on to add that she has enjoyed frank and open talks with Trump and that regardless of what individuals may think, Trump actually listens to the UK’s views on various issues such as trade and international relations.
However May’s detractors believe that May is only complimenting Trump as the UK is soon to exit the UK and will be desperate for new trade agreements with non European Union members, such such as the US. Whether Trump and May will continue to see eye to eye, is anyone’s guess.
5. The FBI will focus on counter intelligence operations against China
The FBI’s current director is open about the fact that the FBI plans to focus a large portion of its man power and resources on counter intelligence operations against China. Who the FBI believe is trying to accumulate intelligence on the US through nefarious methods and that China is not being honest about it’s spying practices.
